Like I said a few days ago I’m really loving this season of parenthood. It is just a lot of fun.
I think one of the reasons I’m enjoying it so much is I am letting go of the pressure to be the Perfect Pinterest Mom.
If you know me I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist. It carries through to all parts of my life. But I’m finding out that the more I fight against it, the more I really enjoy being a mother.
This year we rented an awesome bounce castle from the Air Force outdoor recreation. It was so cool.
We (mostly the hubs and grandpa) spent seven hours building her new playhouse. And I actually didn’t care that it didn’t get done in time for the party. Huge for me!
We made the food easy this year and just did Hawaiain meatballs and fruit and veggies and cupcakes. And of course my creative side had to arrange them in a cute way.
And more surprisingly I didn’t freak out when the hubs grabbed the dirty chairs out of the garage for our guests to sit on.
This party was definitely about our girl and not about me. And she loved it. I guess that’s how it must have been before Pinterest came along!
There you have it. It was so fun. And best of all we made great memories without spending countless hours planning and pinning.
